Even though we are just a few miles down the road from Washington, DC, it's nice to take in the fireworks close to home.  Here are 4 places in Loudoun County where you can take in the show.s

Start early in South Riding.  On July1, there will be a parade that ends at the South Riding Golf Course.  Bring your wallet and some lawn chairs and enjoy food and drink while listening to music while waiting for the fireworks to begin at 9:15.

On the 4th of July, you have two great places to enjoy the festivities.  Leesburg offers a parade starting at 10am with the day ending at Ida Lee Park where there will be music and food (funnel cakes:!!)  Doors open at 6pm with fireworks at 9:30pm.  And rumor has it that if you want to avoid some of the crowds, Morven Park is the place to go.

Check out Purcellville on 4th of July.  They will also hold a parade starting at 11am.  In the evening, head over to Franklin Park for food music and fireworks.

And to extend the holiday just one more day, Ashburn Village will be holding their fireworks display on July 5th at the lakes Amphitheatre off of Cheltenham Circle.  Fireworks begin at sundown.

Fun fact:  did you know that Americans eat over 150 million hot dogs on Independence Day??  How many will you eat?

Enjoy your holiday and don't forget the bug repellent!!
